The Foundation holds two major fundraising events each year:

The Annual Golf Tournament is held in conjunction with the Association's Annual Meeting in the spring of each year. In addition to 18 holes of golf, the tournament typically includes a buffet lunch and prizes. The most recent tournament will be held at Westfields Golf Club in Clifton, Virginia on April 30, 2010.
The Annual Gala Reception and Annual Golf Tournament are supported by ticket sales and sponsorships. If you or your organization would like to become a sponsor of one or both events, please contact Michele Duehring, Energy Bar Association, Tel: (202) 223-5625 or Chair of the Fundraising Committee, Howard H. The initial principal fundraising effort of the Foundation was its Founders campaign. The Founders Campaign was a two-year program during 2003 and 2004 to encourage the law firms and companies who employ EBA members to contribute to the Foundation as a means of providing the Foundation a solid financial base as it commenced its operations.
The Founders Campaign was an incredible success. 25 law firms and companies, as well as 17 individuals, pledged and made contributions to the Foundation at levels sufficient to become Founders. In all, $219,000 were pledged in the Founders Campaign. The Foundation wishes to express its deep gratitude to its many Founders for their wonderful generosity and acknowledges them immediately below.

The Foundation has made charitable donations to many worthy non-profit organizations for energy-related purposes. Among these donations are the following:
2012 LEGAL INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY
WITH THE FEDERAL ENERGY REGULATORY COMMISSION
The Charitable Foundation of the Energy Bar Association (CFEBA) is pleased to announce it again plans to sponsor a Legal Intern at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s (FERC) Energy Markets Section of the Office of General Counsel (OGC) during the summer of 2012. FERC is an independent federal agency that regulates the interstate transmission of natural gas, oil, and electricity. The Energy Markets Section of OGC provides legal advice to the Commission on issues relating to the economic regulation of jurisdictional entities, and interns have the opportunity to gain experience in a variety of areas of energy law. For more information, see www.FERC.gov. Interns should be currently attending law school, and preference will be given to 2nd year students with strong research and writing skills. The CFEBA Legal Intern receives a stipend from the CFEBA equivalent to the salary paid to FERC’s summer interns, and last year’s stipend amount was approximately $8,000 for a 10-week internship. If you are interested in applying for the 2012 CFEBA FERC Legal Internship, send a cover letter and resume to Monica Gonzalez, Chair of the CFEBA Scholarship Committee, at mgonzalez@iso-ne.com by January 2, 2012.
CFEBA provides grants to and sponsors at least two service projects a year in which EBA members are invited to participate. These projects have largely been of two types: (i) participation in the construction or renovation of apartments or town houses meeting modern energy efficiency standards for transfer at below market prices to low income residents of the Washington community and (ii) Operation Caulk, a focused program to enhance energy efficiency at such renovated/constructed low-income housing units.
These projects have been undertaken in conjunction with either the District of Columbia or Northern Virginia Habitat for Humanity affiliate organization. Typically, 15 to 25 EBA members participate in the sponsored Habitat for Humanity "Build Day" which occurs on a Saturday between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Projects completed during these Build Days over the past five years have included framing of apartment or townhouse walls, roofing, siding installation, installing insulation, renovating kitchens and bathrooms, installing wood trim, painting and landscaping.
A description of a typical Service Project "Build Day" is provided in an Article written for the Winter 2011 by EBA Secretary Marcia Hooks, available under the heading "Articles About the Foundation," and entitled "A First for Me - Reaping the Benefits of a CFEBA Habitat Build Day.”
